In fact, trees are important in the life of Anadwan. Saplings are trated as special VIP guests in all functions. They are brought to the site of the function royally in a palanquin and then planted with ceremony and pomp.
The story of the last 50 years of Anandwan has also been a story of exponential growth. Started initially with a total of seven rupees, the annual budget of the Maharogi Sewa Samiti has today grown to a phenomenal Rs. 70 million, much of which is generated through the efforts of the members of the Anadwan community themselves. The following pages provide an overview of different facets of this growth process.
