The Principality of Monaco, brought out a postage stamp in honour of the life and work of Albert Schweitzer, wrote a famous article on Prakash and Mandakini Amte in which they christened them "the Schweitzer Couple of India". This article played a major role in generating greater awareness in Europe about the work of the Amtes.
In 1995, to commemorate 40 years of the release of the Schweitzer stamp, the Principality of Monaco issued a stamp in honour of Prakash and Mandakini Amte.
